"By looking at the filter, it appears to be of high quality components and construction. The ends are rubber, so they seal quite well to the inside of the filter housing. I have an under-sink drinking water filter, which came with 2 10-micron carbon block elements. I wanted the 2nd element to be finer filtration, so I bought this 1-micron element. Unless you have a million-dollar laboratory, it is tough to say whether a filter is doing its job, especially to compare one filter to another. So I must place trust in the manufacturer of filters and the dealer where I buy them. ESP Water Products has earned my trust."
