This video demonstrates how to replace the UV lamp on your BLACKCOMB ultraviolet wawter disinfection system. ESP Water Products, an authorized Luminor UV dealer, offers genuine Luminor UV systems and replacement parts for reliable water purification.

Q:

How do I know if the RL-600HO is the right lamp for my system?

A:

Check the model number on your system's nameplate. The RL-600HO fits any Luminor BLACKCOMB-HO system ending in "-251": LBH4-251, LBH5-251, LBH6-251, LBH5-251B, LBH6-251B, LBH6-251A, and the low-UVT "-50" crossover models. If your model ends in a different number, like -101 or -151, you need a different lamp.

Q:

Can I buy just the RQ-600 quartz sleeve without the lamp?

A:

Not as a standalone item through ESP; the RQ-600 sleeve for the 25 GPM "-251" systems is currently only sold bundled with the lamp in the RLQ-600HO kit. If your sleeve is due for replacement but your lamp still has life left, the kit is still the way to get a genuine RQ-600.

Q:

What does the "-50" suffix mean on models like LBH5-251-50?

A:

It marks a low-UVT crossover configuration, built for source water with reduced UV transmittance (rated to treat water at 50% UVT rather than the standard 75% minimum). These units serve water with more organic material or color, but they use the same RL-600HO lamp as the standard "-251" systems.

Q:

How does the 25 GPM BLACKCOMB-HO (LBH4-251, LBH5-251, LBH6-251) compare to the 21 GPM standard BLACKCOMB system?

A:

Both are sized for the largest homes, but the 25 GPM High Output tier is built for households or light commercial sites that need more throughput than the standard-output 21 GPM LB4/LB5/LB6-201 systems (RL-850 lamp) provide, using LP-HO coated lamps designed to hold their UV dose steadily across the full rated life. Water quality requirements are the same either way: at least 75% UVT for the standard "-251" models, or 50% for the "-50" low-UVT variants.

Q:

My system is showing a "Lamp Expired" alarm. What does that mean?

A:

It means the lamp has reached the end of its rated life, or a new lamp was installed but the countdown timer on the controller was never reset. Luminor's guidance is that water may not be adequately treated once a lamp has expired, so replace the lamp and reset the timer as soon as possible. Holding the controller button for 5 seconds defers the alarm for 7 days, up to three times, but this doesn't restore UV treatment in the meantime.

Q:

Will a non-Luminor replacement lamp work in my BLACKCOMB-HO system?

A:

It may physically fit, but Luminor systems are NSF/ANSI 55 certified as a complete lamp-and-system unit. A non-Luminor lamp voids that certification and can affect your warranty if an issue comes up.
