Check the model number on your system's nameplate. The RL-720A fits LR5-555, LR6-555, LR5-1105, LR6-1105, and their low-UVT "-50" variants. If your model has a "LB" or "LBH" prefix instead of "LR," you have a BLACKCOMB system and need a different lamp.

What's the difference between the "-555" and "-1105" Rainier systems?

Both are light commercial systems rated at 30 mJ/cm² and 95% UVT, but at different flow rates: the "-555" tier runs 55 GPM through a single-lamp chamber with 2" MNPT connections, while the "-1105" tier runs 140 GPM through a dual-lamp chamber with 2.5" MNPT connections. The higher flow rating is why the "-1105" systems need two RL-720A lamps instead of one.

What does the "-50" suffix mean on models like LR5-555-50 or LR6-1105-50?

It marks a low-UVT crossover configuration, built for source water with reduced UV transmittance. Standard "-555" and "-1105" systems are rated for 95% UVT; the "-50" variants deliver the same UV dose at 50% UVT, with flow reduced accordingly, 23 GPM for the "-555-50" tier and 39 GPM for the "-1105-50" tier. They use the same RL-720A lamp as the standard systems.

My LR5-1105 or LR6-1105 system takes two lamps. Do I need to replace both at the same time?

Luminor recommends replacing both lamps together, even if only one has failed. Since both lamps age at roughly the same rate, replacing them as a pair keeps UV output balanced across the chamber and avoids a second service call soon after the first.

Will a non-Luminor replacement lamp work in my Rainier system?
