UV Lamp

"Product came as expected. Had a lamp recently go bad and ESP was very helpful with warranty replacement."

Bulb arrived broken - ESP not accepting for return

"I have a Luminor LB5-101B system that calls for an RL-820 UV bulb per the unit labeling. I purchased this exact bulb from ESP Water. The bulb arrived at my home from ESP with one filament broken (open circuit using a ohmmeter). ESP claims this is the wrong bulb for my system and the return window has closed. The replacement bulb labeling on my system suggests otherwise. I wasted $111 and I still don't have a functional UV system. Frustrating. Buyer beware. Consider another UV bulb vendor for your replacement bulbs."

Excellent Customer service and Product

"I recently had an issue with one of the lamps that was delivered with my order, so I contacted customer service for assistance. Their response was excellent from start to finish. They were prompt in returning my calls, professional in their communication, and genuinely focused on resolving the problem quickly. After explaining the issue, the team immediately arranged to send me a replacement lamp, and the process was smooth and hassle-free. It’s clear they stand behind their products and truly value their customers. Customer service like this makes a big difference. The responsiveness, follow-through, and overall professionalism exceeded my expectations. I’m very happy with the service I received and would confidently recommend this company to others based on the support experience alone."

Q&A

Q:

How do I know if the RL-820 is the right lamp for my system?

A:

Check the model number on your system's nameplate. The RL-820 fits any Luminor BLACKCOMB system ending in "-101": LB4-101, LB5-101, LB6-101, LB5-101B, LB6-101B, and LB6-101A. If your model ends in a different number, like -061, -151, or -201, you need a different lamp.

Q:

My system is showing a "Lamp Expired" alarm. What does that mean?

A:

It means the lamp has reached the end of its rated life, or a new lamp was installed but the countdown timer on the controller was never reset. Luminor's guidance is that water may not be adequately treated once a lamp has expired, so replace the lamp and reset the timer as soon as possible. Holding the controller button for 5 seconds defers the alarm for 7 days, up to three times, but this doesn't restore UV treatment in the meantime.

Q:

What does a "Lamp Failure" alarm mean?

A:

It means the controller can't light the lamp. Unplug the system for at least 3 minutes, check that the lamp connector is fully seated, then plug it back in. If the alarm continues, replace the lamp. If a new lamp doesn't clear it, the controller itself may need service.

Q:

I installed a new RL-820 and now the system says "Lamp Incorrect." What's wrong?

A:

This alarm means the lamp key doesn't match what your chamber requires. Compare the part number on the lamp key to the silver label on the UV chamber. If they don't match, you have the wrong lamp; the RL-820 is for the standard-output LB4/LB5/LB6-101 systems listed above, and BLACKCOMB-HO systems use an entirely different model and lamp lineup. If the numbers do match and the alarm persists, contact Luminor support.

Q:

How do I reset the lamp timer after installing the RL-820?

A:

On a 4.1 controller (4-digit LED display), press and hold the front button until the display cycles through rSt3, rSt2, rSt1 and beeps. On a 5.1 controller (LCD display with lamp key), unplug the controller, remove the old lamp key, insert the new lamp's key, then plug it back in. Either way, the display should return to showing full lamp life remaining; if it doesn't, contact Luminor support.

Q:

Will a non-Luminor replacement lamp work in my BLACKCOMB system?

A:

It may physically fit, but Luminor systems are NSF/ANSI 55 certified as a complete lamp-and-system unit. A non-Luminor lamp voids that certification and can affect your warranty if an issue comes up.
