How do I know if the RQ-720 is the right sleeve for my system?
A:
Check the model number on your system's nameplate. The RQ-720 fits LR5-551, LR6-551, LR5-1101, LR6-1101, and their TOC and low-UVT variants. If your model has a "LB" or "LBH" prefix, you have a residential BLACKCOMB system and need a different sleeve.
Q:
My system's nameplate shows a different last digit, like LR5-552 or LR5-555, instead of LR5-551. Is the RQ-720 still correct?
A:
Yes. The last digit on Rainier "55" and "110" tier models identifies the electrical cord or voltage configuration, not the flow rate or the sleeve. LR5-551, LR5-552, and LR5-555 are all variants of the same 55 GPM system and all use the RQ-720 sleeve.
Q:
Does the RQ-720 work with the TOC lamp, or only the standard lamp?
A:
The RQ-720 works with both. LR5-551-TOC, LR6-551-TOC, LR5-1101-TOC, and LR6-1101-TOC use the same RQ-720 sleeve as the standard systems; only the lamp changes, to the higher-dose RL-720A-TOC.

Can I clean my quartz sleeve instead of replacing it?
A:
Yes, in many cases. Luminor recommends wiping the sleeve with a scale remover like CLR or Lime-A-Way and a soft, lint-free cloth at least once a year, more often if you have hard water or high iron and manganese levels. Keep moisture out of the sleeve's interior during cleaning and let it dry completely before reinstalling. Even without visible damage, we recommend replacing the sleeve every 24 months as routine maintenance, since UV transmission can decline gradually in ways that aren't obvious just by looking at it.
Q:
Will a non-Luminor replacement sleeve work in my Rainier system?
A:
It may physically fit, but Luminor systems are certified as a complete lamp-and-system unit, and sleeve wall thickness and quartz quality affect how much UV-C reaches the water. A non-Luminor sleeve can change that dose and can affect your warranty if an issue comes up.
