Luminor RQ-843 Replacement Quartz Sleeve for Rainier LR5/LR6-140 UV Systems

The RQ-843 is a genuine Luminor replacement quartz sleeve for LUMINOR RAINIER 140-series light-commercial UV water treatment systems: the RAINIER 5.0 (LR5-140X, non-monitored) and RAINIER 6.0 (LR6-140X, UV-monitored), including the low-UVT (-50) and TOC-reduction (-TOC) versions. The sleeve surrounds the UV lamp inside the stainless steel chamber, keeping the lamp dry while its 254 nm UV output passes into the water. Every 140-series chamber holds two lamps, so each system uses two RQ-843 sleeves.

When to clean or replace the sleeve

Luminor's RAINIER manual calls for cleaning the quartz sleeve at least once a year, and more often when water hardness is near 7 grains per gallon or iron and manganese are present, because scale and mineral deposits block UV light. Clean both sleeves whenever you change the RL-843A lamps, and replace the sleeves every 24 months, or sooner if cracked, etched or still cloudy after cleaning.

The last digit of a RAINIER model number is the power-plug code (1 = North American 120V, 2 = European CEE 7/7, 3 = British BS 1363, 4 = Australian/NZ AS/NZS 3112, 5 = North American 230V NEMA 6-15). It does not change the sleeve: every LR5-140X and LR6-140X uses the RQ-843. Other RAINIER sizes use different sleeves: RQ-500 for the 35 series, RQ-720 for the 55 and 110 series, and RQ-1000 for the 85 and 175 series.
