Frequently Asked Questions
Q:
Which systems use the PURA 36099205 channeling-sleeve gasket?
A:
PURA and Aqua Flo UV20-1, UV20-2 SD and UV20-3 systems. Match your system label and part number 36099205 before ordering.
Q:
Where does the PURA 36099205 channeling-sleeve gasket install?
A:
It seals the stainless steel channeling sleeve (PURA 44301007) inside the UV20 housing. Install it in the same orientation and groove as the original.
Q:
When should this seal be replaced?
A:
Clean and inspect it whenever a filter, sleeve, or lamp is changed. Replace it if damaged, misshapen, or no longer sealing.
Q:
Can petroleum grease be used on this gasket?
A:
No. Use only a light film of food-grade silicone lubricant if the equipment instructions call for it. Petroleum products can damage many elastomer seals.
Q:
Why can a new gasket still leak?
A:
Common causes include debris in the groove, twisting, pinching, a damaged channeling sleeve or housing surface, uneven tightening, or repressurizing too quickly.
Q:
Is this the only seal needed for the service?
A:
Not necessarily. Identify every seal disturbed during the repair and compare the service diagram. This listing is the channeling sleeve gasket only. It is not the quartz sleeve O-ring or the housing sump O-ring.
