What Does the Quartz Sleeve Do?

The quartz sleeve forms a protective barrier between the UV lamp and the water flowing through the treatment chamber. It prevents the lamp from coming into direct contact with water while allowing germicidal UV-C energy to pass through the chamber.

The sleeve also helps the UV lamp maintain the proper operating temperature needed for consistent system performance.

Cleaning and Replacement

Minerals and other deposits can accumulate on the quartz sleeve over time. This buildup can block UV-C energy and reduce the system’s ability to treat water effectively.

Inspect and clean the quartz sleeve during routine UV lamp maintenance. Replace the sleeve if it is:
