Q:
What does the AXEON CBF-45-2010 filter reduce?
A:
The coconut-shell carbon block reduces chlorine taste and odor and helps capture sediment at a nominal 10-micron rating. It can also reduce selected organic compounds when operated within the manufacturer's specifications.
Q:
What size housing accepts AXEON part 200663?
A:
It is a 4.5-by-20-inch Big Blue-style cartridge for compatible 20-inch large-diameter housings. Confirm both housing length and diameter; it will not fit a standard slim 20-inch housing.
Q:
Which AXEON systems list the CBF-45-2010 as a replacement?
A:
Approved applications include AXEON BT-1500, BT-1800, BT-2000, CT-4000, CT-5000 and CT-7000 systems. Always compare the installed cartridge number when servicing a modified system.
Q:
How often should this 20-inch carbon block be replaced?
A:
A typical service interval is 6 to 12 months, but chlorine load, water volume and sediment can shorten its life. Replace sooner if pressure drop rises or taste and odor return.
Q:
Can the CBF-45-2010 reduce TDS or hardness?
A:
No. Carbon filtration is intended for chlorine, taste, odor and selected organic contaminants; it does not soften water or substantially lower dissolved mineral content.
Q:
What installation steps help prevent leaks and carbon fines?
A:
Shut off and depressurize the housing, center the cartridge on the sump standpipe, inspect and lightly lubricate the housing O-ring with food-grade silicone, then restore water slowly and flush the new cartridge as directed.
