Description

The RL-1000A is a genuine Luminor replacement UV lamp for LUMINOR RAINIER LR5-855, LR6-855, LR5-1755, and LR6-1755 light commercial systems, and it's also the lamp used across the larger LUMINOR EVEREST LE5/6-A42, LE5/6-A62, and LE5/6-A72 industrial and municipal systems listed below. It is an authentic Luminor part, not a compatible aftermarket substitute, so it drops in and treats water the way your system was originally tested and certified to perform.

How many lamps does your system need? The RL-1000A is used in single- and multi-lamp chambers depending on the system, so check your chamber before ordering:

  • LR5-855, LR6-855 and their "-50" low-UVT variants: 1 lamp
  • LR5-1755, LR6-1755 and their "-50" low-UVT variants: 2 lamps
  • LE5-A42, LE6-A42 (standard, "-HW," and "-50" variants): 4 lamps
  • LE5-A62, LE6-A62 (standard, "-HW," and "-50" variants): 6 lamps
  • LE5-A72, LE6-A72 (standard, "-HW," and "-50" variants): 7 lamps

The lamp is rated for 12,000 hours of use, about 12 months of continuous operation. UV-C output weakens gradually over the lamp's life, so Luminor recommends replacing it every 12 months or after 12,000 hours, whichever comes first, to keep UV output where the system needs it. On multi-lamp systems, Luminor recommends replacing all lamps in the chamber together, even if only one has failed, since they age at roughly the same rate.

Why a genuine Luminor lamp matters

Luminor tests and certifies its UV systems as a complete unit: lamp, chamber, and sleeve together. An authentic RL-1000A keeps your system performing the way it was certified. A non-Luminor lamp voids the system's certification and can affect your warranty coverage if a problem comes up later.

Fits these Luminor Rainier systems

  • LR5-855 (85 GPM, 1 lamp)
  • LR6-855 (85 GPM, 1 lamp)
  • LR5-855-50 (35 GPM, low-UVT crossover, 1 lamp)
  • LR6-855-50 (35 GPM, low-UVT crossover, 1 lamp)
  • LR5-1755 (175 GPM, 2 lamps)
  • LR6-1755 (175 GPM, 2 lamps)
  • LR5-1755-50 (51 GPM, low-UVT crossover, 2 lamps)
  • LR6-1755-50 (51 GPM, low-UVT crossover, 2 lamps)

Fits these Luminor Everest systems

  • LE5-A42, LE6-A42 (530 GPM, 4 lamps)
  • LE5-A62, LE6-A62 (780 GPM, 6 lamps)
  • LE5-A72, LE6-A72 (915 GPM, 7 lamps)
  • LE5-A42-HW, LE6-A42-HW (230 GPM, hot water rated, 4 lamps)
  • LE5-A62-HW, LE6-A62-HW (341 GPM, hot water rated, 6 lamps)
  • LE5-A72-HW, LE6-A72-HW (404 GPM, hot water rated, 7 lamps)
  • LE6-A42-50 (119 GPM, low-UVT crossover, 4 lamps)
  • LE6-A62-50 (179 GPM, low-UVT crossover, 6 lamps)
  • LE6-A72-50 (210 GPM, low-UVT crossover, 7 lamps)

The RL-1000A runs on universal voltage, so the same lamp covers every model above regardless of electrical service.

Complete your replacement The RL-1000A is the lamp only. For Rainier LR5-855, LR6-855, LR5-1755, and LR6-1755 systems, pair it with the Luminor RQ-1000 UV Quartz Sleeve (1 sleeve per lamp), or the Luminor RLQ-1000A UV Lamp and Sleeve Kit, which bundles the lamp and sleeve together. Everest LE-series systems use a different sleeve, the RQ-K2, one per lamp; Luminor's Everest line isn't currently stocked on ESP, so contact us to source the RQ-K2 sleeve for your system.

Q:

How do I know if the RL-1000A is the right lamp for my system?

A:

Check the model number on your system's nameplate. The RL-1000A fits every Rainier "-855" and "-1755" model and every Everest "A42," "A62," and "A72" model listed above, in both their standard, "-HW," and "-50" configurations. If your model has a "LB" or "LBH" prefix, you have a residential BLACKCOMB system and need a different lamp.

Q:

What's the difference between the Rainier and Everest systems that both use the RL-1000A?

A:

Rainier is Luminor's light commercial line; the "-855" and "-1755" models top out at 175 GPM using one or two lamps. Everest is Luminor's industrial and municipal line, built for much higher flow (530 to 915 GPM standard) using banks of 4, 6, or 7 lamps in the same chamber. Both lines use the identical RL-1000A lamp, just in different quantities.

Q:

Does the RL-1000A use the same quartz sleeve on both Rainier and Everest systems?

A:

No. Rainier LR5-855, LR6-855, LR5-1755, and LR6-1755 systems use the RQ-1000 sleeve. Everest LE-series systems use a different sleeve, the RQ-K2. Both are one sleeve per lamp.

Q:

What do the "-HW" and "-50" suffixes mean on the Everest models?

A:

"-HW" marks a hot water rated configuration, which lowers the flow rating (for example, 530 GPM standard becomes 230 GPM on the LE5/6-A42-HW) to maintain UV dose at higher water temperatures. "-50" marks a low-UVT crossover configuration for source water with reduced UV transmittance, similarly lowering the flow rating. Both use the same RL-1000A lamp as the standard systems.

Q:

Will a non-Luminor replacement lamp work in my Rainier or Everest system?

A:

It may physically fit, but Luminor systems are certified as a complete lamp-and-system unit. A non-Luminor lamp voids that certification and can affect your warranty if an issue comes up.
