Sistema UV VIQUA VT1 1 GPM 3/8" y 1/2" combinado NPT

"The "O" rings supplied with the Viqua are too thin for the intended purpose of sealing the "fused quartz sleeve" to the unit's metal body. Despite tightening the plastic end caps ("retaining nuts") as much as I dared (aircraft mechanic - over-torquing breaks things and damages "O" rings!) the unit began to leak slightly after a few days. After 3 "just a bit tighter" attempts, when it continued to leak, finally installed slightly thicker "O" rings - appears to have fixed the issue. OEM "O" rings undamaged and seated properly - just too thin. Water pressure well under max listed in the manual. Keep an eye on this thing for a week or so until you're sure it won't leak. As it heats up (from the UV lamp) the pressure in the cylinder will increase, so you may not notice the leak right away. (Based on this I would always mount the Viqua vertically, and never horizontally, to prevent water seepage into the lamp connector.) Also, for stability of the installation, another mounting bracket would be a good idea. Only 1 bracket is supplied, and it only has 1 mounting hole - this allows the unit to move if it gets bumped - as it will in under-sink locations - not a good idea in plumbing installations."
"I purchased the product to use in wine making, will attempt to render yeast inactive with one? or two? trips through the light chamber. Because UV light kills yeast this looked like a viable solution to avoid use of sulfur dioxide or other chemical yeast-o-cides. The product looks very well built and will last the rest of my life easily given the limited use it will receive, Thank you for a great product at a good price."
