Ultrapure water (UPW) is essential throughout microelectronics and semiconductor manufacturing. Aquafine UV systems perform key functions in UPW production, including microbial inactivation, TOC (total organic carbon) reduction, and chlorine/chloramine removal. Our advanced systems use Colorguard UV lamps, known for their reliability and unmatched performance.

UV combined with ozone effectively reduces trace organics, which are challenging contaminants in pure water systems. As integrated circuits shrink and transistor capacities grow, even contaminants in the parts-per-trillion range can cause defects. Organics pose a challenge to ion exchange resins, making careful monitoring of silica and boron levels crucial to avoid TOC leakage.
