Q&A
Frequently Asked Questions
Q:
What is the rated production of the Hydrotech 33001068?
A:
It is rated for up to 25 gallons per day under specified test conditions. Actual output varies with feed pressure, temperature, dissolved-solids level, and membrane condition.
Q:
Which systems does the Hydrotech 33001068 fit?
A:
The catalog lists these compatible parts or systems: Platinum 1240, 1240 : E, 1240 : M and Pro, 4VTFC25G (1240201-00), 4VTFC25G-PB (1240301-00). Confirm the exact model number on your equipment before ordering Hydrotech 33001068.
Q:
What should I verify before ordering?
A:
Match the exact part number and Hydrotech element identified by its black band, plus the seal, connection, and flow-control arrangement.
Q:
How often should this RO membrane be replaced?
A:
A common interval is about 24 months, but source water, prefilter maintenance, and use affect service life. Test product-water TDS and replace sooner if rejection or output declines.
Q:
Can I replace it with a different GPD membrane?
A:
Only if the system manufacturer allows it. Membrane capacity must match system pressure and the flow restrictor; otherwise production and drain flow can be unbalanced.
Q:
What should I do after installing the membrane?
A:
Confirm seals and tubing, restore water slowly, check for leaks, and follow the system instructions for flushing and discarding initial product water.
