Luminor LB4-021 Blackcomb 4.1 UV Water Treatment System 2 GPM

The Luminor LB4-021 BLACKCOMB 4.1 is a compact UV water disinfection system rated at 2 GPM (7.6 L/min) at a UV dose of 30 mJ/cm² and 95% UV transmittance. It uses an 8-watt UV lamp in a polished 304 stainless steel chamber (2.5 x 10.3 inches) with 1/2-inch FNPT connections, which suits single-faucet, cottage and other low-flow applications. The BLACKCOMB 4.1 controller shows lamp status with a tri-colour LED and remaining lamp life on a 4-digit display, with audible and visual alarms.

How it alerts you

The LED is green when the lamp is on and within its rated life, turns yellow 30 days before the lamp expires (with a chirp in the last 7 days), and turns red with a buzzer when the lamp fails or expires. The controller reports lamp status; it does not by itself confirm the water is safe to drink, so Luminor recommends testing your water for microbiological contaminants regularly.

Water quality requirements

• Luminor strongly recommends a 5-micron sediment prefilter before the UV system
• Hardness under 7 gpg (soften above this); pH 6.5-8.5
• Iron under 0.3 ppm, manganese under 0.05 ppm, tannins under 0.1 ppm, turbidity under 1 NTU
• UV transmittance above 85% (contact Luminor below 80% for pretreatment advice)

Maintenance and replacement parts

• UV lamp: RL-210. Replace every 12 months (standard lamps are rated about 9,000 hours).
• Quartz sleeve: RQ-210. Clean every 6-12 months and replace every 24 months, or sooner if scaled, cloudy or damaged.

BLACKCOMB 4.1 systems do not support a UV sensor or add-on modules; choose a BLACKCOMB 5.1 or 6.1 if you need UV monitoring. No temperature relief valve is offered for the 2 GPM size.

Warranty Luminor limited warranty: 10 years on the stainless steel reactor, 3 years on the controller, and 1 year on UV lamps, UV sensors and quartz sleeves.
