Description
The RL-720A is a genuine Luminor replacement UV lamp and lamp key for LUMINOR RAINIER LR5-555, LR6-555, LR5-1105, and LR6-1105 light commercial UV water treatment systems, and their low-UVT "-50" variants listed below. It is an authentic Luminor part, not a compatible aftermarket substitute, so it drops in and treats water the way your system was originally tested and certified to perform.
How many lamps does your system need? The 55 GPM "-555" systems use a single-lamp chamber and take one RL-720A. The 140 GPM "-1105" systems use a dual-lamp chamber and take two RL-720A lamps per system. Check your chamber before ordering so you buy the right quantity.
The lamp is rated for 12,000 hours of use, about 12 months of continuous operation. UV-C output weakens gradually over the lamp's life, so Luminor recommends replacing it every 12 months or after 12,000 hours, whichever comes first, to keep UV output where the system needs it.

The higher flow rating is why the "-1105" systems need two RL-720A lamps instead of one.

What does the "-50" suffix mean on models like LR5-555-50 or LR6-1105-50?

It marks a low-UVT crossover configuration, built for source water with reduced UV transmittance. Standard "-555" and "-1105" systems are rated for 95% UVT; the "-50" variants deliver the same UV dose at 50% UVT, with flow reduced accordingly, 23 GPM for the "-555-50" tier and 39 GPM for the "-1105-50" tier. They use the same RL-720A lamp as the standard systems.

My LR5-1105 or LR6-1105 system takes two lamps. Do I need to replace both at the same time?
